Becoming an affiliate is the first step to success with the company. We have dozens of 'un-signed' affiliates that help us in every aspect of running our business. Whether you are a computer graphics designer, a mechanic, a venue owner, or just a band that wants to go on tour, we might have a spot for you. The affiliate concept is about weaving individuals with proficient skills in specific fields together to create a web of knowledge and capability that, when measured by efficiency, is comparable to most major labels. It is a complex network of individuals and teams that make up the very existance of the label. - How do I become an Exclusive Alcatraz Artist?
Unlike most indies, we don't just sign up any band that comes our way. We look for specific qualities that make up a fully-functional good-sounding band. Those include but are not limited to:
- Great music that we just can't stop listening to
- Good personalities, people we get along with that don't have ego problems or destructive habits
- Team-players that all contribute to the band and work together
- Self-sufficiency...are you able to book, promote and tour on your own?
- Motivation to work hard and achieve goals that you set. Not just wait for things to happen.

- How long have you guys been around?
The label has officially been around since the summer of 2002; about one month prior to signing our first exclusive artist. But the people the company is consisted of have been involved in the music industry for years and some even decades. This combination has created a modern new-school company that uses old-school for-the-artist principles.

- Where can I buy CD's?
Alcatraz is an independent label that utilizes modern internet distribution technology. Album sales worldwide have dropped over 60% in the past 5 years and internet sales are sky-rocketing! However, this doesn't mean you won't find our CDs in stores. It means that you will only find CDs at stores located in specifically targeted areas that pertain to each individual artist. And you always have the option to buy from our online store or directly from the artist.
